Mammoth was better than we remembered and we had an awesome time bomb’n the smooth (compared to N*), long runs on the big mountain.

Some of our favorite trails at Mammoth are Velocity, Flow, Off the Top, Shock Treatment, Skid Marks and the new Techno Rock!
The recently constructed double black diamond trail called Techno Rock just opened and it is wild – giant rock drops (some with wooden landings) all the way down. I didn’t have the camera when Curtis, Eric, Luke and Tom rode it – next time!

Camping at the USFS Old Shady Rest in Mammoth Lakes is the best. August in Mammoth is perfect for camping.

Sunday afternoon on the way back to Reno it was gourmet food and wine tasting at the Tioga Mart. The food at this place is unbelievably excellent and comes highly recommended by dhReno. The Tioga Mart is just outside of Lee Vining maybe 1/4 mile up Tioga Pass.
What a coincidence – we ran into Dave Bright’s sister Lari (she lives in LA) and her friend Lynn at the Tioga Mart! Lynn’s son also races DH so we’ll be looking for him at the Northstar races!
