The Green River Fire started when lightning hit a power converter and burned at least 300 acres near Keystone Canyon last night. We watched it from the Steamboat Ditch trail and it was spectacular. Don’t know for sure but it seems like it must have burned some of the Halo Trail too.

“Here are some images taken from our back patio this evening… It was quite the sight to see, that is for sure. Pretty surreal. I was shooting photos before we even heard the fire trucks go by. We were also watching the fire through Jon’s spotting scope and it was spreading pretty fast, you could just see it just go with the wind gusts. Pretty cool and definitely scary at the same time.
