The riding on Sunday was fantastic! We started in the afternoon on the N-Trail which is in great shape. Since it was about 95 degrees on Peavine we decided to head to the Sierra. We rode Whites Creek and then up to the Hippy Shack trail. There are still a few snow drifts at the top of the HS – nothing too bad. We ended up coming down Thomas Creek and Baby Head trail. We finished a perfect day with a tasty BBQ and beer at Black Rock Bikes – thanks Randy!

Randy took these photos after our ride last Friday 12/12/08. We don’t know who owns the SUV other than he is a mtn biker. The breakin happened between 4pm and 5pm. We noticed 3 teenagers mulling around before we left on our ride. Don’t know if they’re the perps, but it’s something to watch out for when you’re in the area.
We’re finishing up work on the N-Trail for the summer this Wednesday June 4th. Meet us at the Rancho Ball Fields parking lot at 5:45pm and we’ll work on the trail for a while and have a wienie roast with brews afterwards. Hope you can make it!
We’re working on the N-Trail with the Poedunks on Wednesday evenings - including tonight! Come out and share your thoughts, lend a hand and check out the trail’s progress.

There is an amazing hillside on Peavine that consists of just a few acres that we call “Flower Hill”. It doesn’t bloom every year but this year it is incredible! The hill is just 200 yards north of the start of the new N-Trail along the road that follows the power line.
The camera phone photos do not do the hillside justice – try to ride by it soon it’s worth it!
TO WARN EVERYONE, my vehicle was broken into (with items stolen) while parked Friday (4-4-08 ) at Keystone Canyon East Trailhead. Other vehicles and other reports relating to similar activity have been filed with the police. If anyone has any information as to who is responsible for these absolutely petty events, please report it to the police immediately!!
Thanks.

Now that the mountain has dried out a little the Poedunks are kicking butt on the N-Trail revamp again. We had a great turnout on Saturday especially considering there was snow on the ground when we started.

With permission from the Park manager, our projects goal is to make the existing trail more challenging and sustainable, accommodating intermediate to advanced riders.”
Despite the windy and freezing a$$ cold weather, we had a record turnout to work on the N Trail this Saturday! We’re working our way down the mountain at an amazing rate and the trail looks fantastic. Huge thanks to all the volunteers who came out and kicked butt with shovels and picks! At the same time Poedunks Randy, Dale and other volunteers were working on reseeding the Rancho/Keystone connector trail – check out Poedunk Double Header.
