Everyone had a great time at N* this weekend. The trails are in great shape and there were no crowds!

Northstar Opening 2009

From Tahoe Mountain Biking: Well, it’s official. The 2009 Northstar Bike Park season will begin in tomorrow 6/12/09. It has been a very hectic 4 weeks putting the park back together after the winter. After a lot of hard work by the crew the park is looking better than ever. I can say with confidence that the trails are in excellent shape. The latest streak of rainy weather has made for excellent trail building conditions and even better riding conditions. Opening at 10am on Friday will be all 3 lifts. That’s right we will be fully open top to bottom on day 1. Day one will also be the first shifter Friday with extended hours of operation. That means the park will remain open until 7pm!

Here is a quick list of just a few trail upgrades.

• Easy rider wall rides (16’ x 8’ and 24’ x 8’)
• Lower Gypsy reroute. (800’ of brand new berm and jump riddled trail)
• 2Six Jump park irrigation system.
• 2Six jump park complete. (All take offs and landings have been fine tuned)
• Brand new stadium Berm.
• Completely reworked zone 7 of Live Wire.
• New Hip to Berm feature in Zone 3 of Live Wire.
• New Jumps in Zone 6 Live Wire.

Saturday and Sunday (including Labor Day): Gondola, Zephyr, Vista – 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Monday – Wednesday: Closed

September 11 – October 18

*Vista Express will close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Intense weekend at N*

The weather was perfect for a great weekend of riding at Northstar. The Tahoe Zepher lift was operating giving access to Livewire, Gypsy and Boondocks! All these trails are in great shape with lots of trail improvements.

Northstar Upper Mountain Opens June 7th

The lower mountain was open last weekend and everyone had an awesome time riding it – there was a huge turnout. This weekend looks even better with the Tahoe Zephyr Express lift running giving access to the Livewire, Gypsy and Boondocks trails!

This is a cool Ning social networking site setup by Northstar. It looks like N* is still on schedule to open on May 23rd! Also don’t forget that Giant will be demo’n their 2008 bikes on the 23rd also.

Northstar plans to open Memorial Day weekend!

 Northstar says that they’ll open the bike park on May 23rd, 2008! Yeah! More good news – it looks like the price for a season pass is the same as last year $229.

Northstar 2008 Season Pass Deal

This is on RideMonkey  : “… they were running a deal on closing day where you could buy a pass for next year for the current season pass price ($229). This deal is apparently going on through the month of October, but only if you *call* the ticket office. The pass price is supposed to go up next year, which I could certainly understand seeing how much work they put into the park this year, and the plans for next year.”
