Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort and Giant Bicycles have come together along with the Ride Giant / Ride Northstar mountain bike sponsorship program to host the USA movie premiere of 3 MINUTE GAPS on Saturday, June 18, 2011. The event will be a kickoff to summer celebration with the bike park grand opening, a BBQ, a fantastic raffle and more.
For the movie premiere and kickoff to summer celebration on Saturday, June 18, Northstar-at-Tahoe will also be extending its mountain bike park hours till 6:00 p.m. that day. The party will start at 5:30 p.m. on the Lodge at Big Springs Deck with a BBQ at Chill Peppers, with the movie and raffle following.

For two years the crew of 3 MINUTE GAPS have followed the world’s best mountain bike racers around the globe documenting them as they trained, prepared, rode, ate, traveled, raced, celebrated, commiserated, and made sacrifices simply because of the weight of ambition to be the fastest. There is no truer, more accurate and intimate depiction of the hallowed worlds of the very best World Cup rider’s than 3 MINUTE GAPS.
Filmed in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, USA, and every round of the 2009 and 2010 World Cup Series and World Championships.

From Tahoe Mountain Biking: Well, it’s official. The 2009 Northstar Bike Park season will begin in tomorrow 6/12/09. It has been a very hectic 4 weeks putting the park back together after the winter. After a lot of hard work by the crew the park is looking better than ever. I can say with confidence that the trails are in excellent shape. The latest streak of rainy weather has made for excellent trail building conditions and even better riding conditions. Opening at 10am on Friday will be all 3 lifts. That’s right we will be fully open top to bottom on day 1. Day one will also be the first shifter Friday with extended hours of operation. That means the park will remain open until 7pm!
Here is a quick list of just a few trail upgrades.
