New Intense M9 at Mammoth Mountain

August 26, 2010

Mammoth Mountain, California * August 2010

“I went to mammoth just this last weekend and had an AMAZING time. every run was open and all the lifts were running. Aside from the perfect weather (never got above 75°) all the trails were perfectly groomed and ready for shredding. The newest run they have is called TwiLiGhT, this is the run that I spent the most time. it has multiple drops ranging is size, tech sections wood ramps and wall rides. It has a new 180° 7ft+ wall ride that is super fun. And at the end you get to run through 8-10 table tops ranging is height and length (perfect to get all whip nasty on). if you guys ever get a chance to make it to mammoth, seize it! You will not be disappointed.” - Jake Cooper

Mammoth’s Velocity Trail

June 1, 2009

Here’s one that we all know and love!

Mammoth Mountain Bike Park is scheduled to open June 20th, 2009!

Mammoth Mountain Bike Park opens June 20, 2009

April 29, 2009

Always an awesome place – the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park is scheduled to open June 20, 2009. Serving up everything from boulder-strewn freeride terrain to smooth-as-a-baby’s-bottom dirt paths.

  • 100-plus miles of dirt single-track
  • Descend 3,000 feet from Mammoth’s summit
  • From expansive vistas to pine tree corridors
  • Seven NEW freeride trails built in the last two seasons

Mammoth Mountain Bike Park opened its newest freeride trail, Twilight Zone in 2008. The highlight of this trail is “The Deep End”, a nine-foot tall, 50-foot wide, elevated, banked wooden bowl structure that looks like it was airlifted straight from British Columbia, minus the rain, and crappy exchange rate, of course.

The Scenic Gondola provides uphill access for mountain bikers, along with the Bike Park shuttle, which begins in the Village at Mammoth.

Mammoth Bike Park Update 2007

April 10, 2007

Mammoth Mountain Bike Park 2007: open June 23 – Sept. 23

Trail Report – Last Updated: Apr 7, 2007 12:13 PM
Even though it has been a light snowfall year, trail crews have a lot of work to do to get the mountain ready for biking.

New for 2007: 3 New Freeride Trails

  • Techno Rock: a fast, technical expert-only trail from McCoy Station to the Main Lodge. With BIG rock drops and banked turns in the Super Pipe Techno Rock is a dirt-jumping run to the bottom.
  • Richter: a fast, upper-intermediate to advanced, tree-lined roller coaster ride off Kamikaze and Trail Home. Ladders, wooden bridges and plenty of berms. This trail completes the freeride path from the top of the mountain to the bottom.
  • Twilight Zone: this urban-inspired trail will become our “signature.” Hang a quick right halfway down Chain Smoke and get ready to accelerate through a series of linked wooden berms, over the Dragon, and end in the heart-pounding “deep-end”: a 32-foot wide, 10-foot tall, 180 degree banked turn.

Mammoth Mountain Wrap Up 2006

September 19, 2006

Mammoth Bike Park, California * September 2006

Mammoth Bike Park closes next weekend. This has been an awesome summer of riding at Mammoth that probably wouldn’t have happened for us had Northstar been open. When one door closes another opens and usually it’s better! It seemed like dhReno riders were shredding Mammoth almost every weekend.
