National Mountain Bike Series Adds Two, Loses One

PARK CITY, UT. (Feb. 15, 2007) – The National Mountain Bike Series will be traveling to two new venues in 2007. Series owner Jeff Frost of Blue Wolf Events is excited to announce these two new additions to the NMBS: The Firestone Santa Ynez Valley Mountain Bike Classic presented by Platinum Performance, taking place in Santa Barbara on April 27 th – 29 th, and The Chile Challenge at Angel Fire Resort, taking place in New Mexico on May 26 th – 28 th. These two new stops on the circuit will replace the Cougar Mountain Classic, which departed from the series earlier this month.

NMBS Heads Into 2007 With Team, Industry Alliances

The 2007 National Mountain Bike Race Series (NMBS) is set to run from March through August of next year, with six stops in five states providing mountain bike race enthusiasts and professionals alike the highest level of competition at the best venues in America.

WOW! dhReno had a fantastic time at Sonoma. Five National Champions, top ten Semi-Pro, 13 podium finishes! The DH course was great, much better than we had expected. The event organizers were friendly and on top of it. What more can you ask for!

Sonoma Course Progress

Team Motion Based out of Novato, California (right next to Sonoma) has these updates on the MTB National Championship courses at the Infineon Raceway coming up in a couple of weeks.

“The DH course will be very similar to last years.” See the Sonoma Video.

“The Super D will probably be the rolling fire road section towards the end of the XC course into a descent with “obstacles” such as bridges and logs. It will be about 3 miles in length, tending to favor the stronger XC riders.”

New Nor-Cal Qualifying Race Announced for 2006 MTB National Championships

June 8, 2006 — USA Cycling today confirmed that the Bigfoot Classic in Arcata, CA is now a sanctioned NORBA event. Along with their permit this event has been designated a cross country and downhill qualifier for the 2006 USA Cycling MTB National Championships to be hosted by the Infineon Technologies Cougar Mountain Classic at Sonoma, CA's Infineon Raceway, July 13 – 16, 2006.

Sonoma DH Course
