2009 was a great year for Sea Otter. The racing was super fun, dhReno scored lots of podiums and the group was awesome.

dhReno is heading to Sea Otter again next week and it’s always a total blast! Randy and Black Rock Bicycles have reserved 3 of the coolest campsites in the corner of beautiful Campground E overlooking the venue. If you’re planning on camping with us or you’d like to camp with us, give Randy a holler and “call dibs” on a spot to camp, there are a couple of spots still available. Thanks!

Looks like the Sea Otter Classic and Norba race promoters have an interest in bringing back DS/4X for the old guys. Sea Otter has broken up their masters 40+ category (which previously combined beginner, sport, and expert) into three separate categories, one for expert, sport, and beginner which will now provide huge medal opportunity for all.
Additionally, the Norba promoters have reinstated the DS/4X 40+ categories (beg/sport/expert) giving the old guys a chance. Last year most events caped it at 30+ and in some cases 19+ which made it tough for old guys to compete. I’ve been told this resurrection of the old guy categories will be a test for 2008 and only survive if enough old guys participate.
Hope to see you on the DS/4X course at Fontana and Sea Otter.
Corral Hollow Downhill has changed the race date for race #3 to Oct 13/14/07. This is great news as we no longer have a conflict with the Northstar race and now have one extra race in 2007 to enjoy. Announcement can be found on www.ridesfo.com
Also breaking news, Sea Otter Classic just retracted their previous announcement regarding the 2008 race timing from May to April 12-15, 2008 (hope we avoid the rain).

“In response to requests and recommendations from our athletes, fans and sponsors, we have decided to host the Sea Otter Classic on May 1-4, 2008,” said Frank Yohannan, president and chief executive officer of the Sea Otter Classic. “We look forward to seeing all our supporters at the 18th Annual Sea Otter Classic.” From BicycleRetailer.com
