Huge congratulations to dhReno racers Jason Caufield and Don Morehouse. Jason podiumed in the Downhill Expert 25-29 with a 4th place on a very gnarly dh course. Don barely missed the podium with a 6th place in the hotly contested Super D race.
Also awesome job by local Northstar/Giant Pro Jon Wilson for a 4th place in the Pro Super D against some of the best Super D racers in the world! Other local racers with strong showing at the Deer Valley NMBS included Christian Wright with a 5th in Jr Ex DH, Kenny Burt 6th in Pro Super D, Northstar/Giant Semi Pro Casey Coffman crashed in DH race and still finished mid-pack!

Amateur video of pro racers on the dh course at the 2007 Deer Valley National mountain bike race. This video doesn’t do the course justice at all. Some of the drops and jumps that look easy for the pros are really terrifying when you’re standing on top looking down!
The Deer Valley National mountain bike races were totally awesome! Park City is one of the most beautiful places on earth this time of year - everything is lush and green, wild flowers are blooming and temps in the low 80s are perfect for riding.
Don sprints across the finish at the Super D race. Eric Carter said about the Deer Valley National: “if all Super D races were as fun as this one everybody would be racing them!”
PARK CITY, UT. (Feb. 15, 2007) - The National Mountain Bike Series will be traveling to two new venues in 2007. Series owner Jeff Frost of Blue Wolf Events is excited to announce these two new additions to the NMBS: The Firestone Santa Ynez Valley Mountain Bike Classicpresented by Platinum Performance, taking place in Santa Barbara on April 27 th – 29 th, andThe Chile Challenge at Angel Fire Resort, taking place in New Mexico on May 26 th – 28 th. These two new stops on the circuit will replace the Cougar Mountain Classic, which departed from the series earlier this month.
The 2007 National Mountain Bike Race Series (NMBS) is set to run from March through August of next year, with six stops in five states providing mountain bike race enthusiasts and professionals alike the highest level of competition at the best venues in America.

Congratulations to dhReno rider Eric Opperman who had the race of his life on the gnarly Pro/Expert DH course. Eric turned in a blazing time of 3:17 for a 4th place finish out of sixty nine Semi-Pro Racers in this hotly contested National Series Race.

It was the first time for some of us at Deer Valley and we were impressed. Beautiful country and a first class race and course.
Congratulations to Jason Blanchard who put in a great race finishing 12th in the cutthroat Semi-Pro class out of more than 60 racers. Congratulations to other dhReno podium finishers: Davy Robison 2nd place, Luke Opperman 2nd Place, Bernadette Opperman 3rd place, Nancy Birch 1st place, Steve Cleek 2nd place.
