Local Northstar/Giant Pro Jon Wilson smoked the Boondocks course for the win on Sunday. Great riding Jon!

Wow! Don Morehouse killed it at the D-Ville Classic this year! Don won the overall “All Mountain Division” for Expert 34 and under by winning the downhill race and coming in second in the XC race! Way to go Don!
Other local riders also had great races including Jordan Lopez 7th Expert DH (with a crash), Jude Mayne 3rd All Mtn Expert 35+, John Hurley 2nd XC Expert 19-34, Roger Lopez Sport XC, Kenny Burt Pro All Mountain.

Huge congratulations to dhReno racers Jason Caufield and Don Morehouse. Jason podiumed in the Downhill Expert 25-29 with a 4th place on a very gnarly dh course. Don barely missed the podium with a 6th place in the hotly contested Super D race.
Also awesome job by local Northstar/Giant Pro Jon Wilson for a 4th place in the Pro Super D against some of the best Super D racers in the world! Other local racers with strong showing at the Deer Valley NMBS included Christian Wright with a 5th in Jr Ex DH, Kenny Burt 6th in Pro Super D, Northstar/Giant Semi Pro Casey Coffman crashed in DH race and still finished mid-pack!

Local racers had a great turnout at the 12 Mile Super D. Don Morehouse, Jordan Lopez, Casey Coffman and Jon Wilson all posted awesome times. Check out the results at http://obra.org
From Breakaway Events ”Dropping more than 5,000 vertical ft. in 12 miles from Mt. Ashland Ski resort lodge to Ashland’s downtown. This is the longest Super D race in the state of Oregon and the second longest in the country.
It features nothing but the best single track trails Ashland has to offer. It also serves up 600 ft of climbing through the beautiful forests and hills of Ashland.”

Here are the tentative race courses for the ‘08 Northstar Downhill Race Series.
#1.) June 15th, 2008 - Sunday
All classes: upper to middle Karpiel.
Expert / Pro: lower Dogbone (slabs) to bottom of Karpiel (Vietnam) to stadium jump finish.
Sport / Beginner: lower Phodogg to stadium jump finish.
#2.) July 20th, 2008 - Sunday
All classes: Boondocks, top to bottom (first time ever).
#3.) August 10th, 2008 - Sunday
Expert / Pro: Dogbone, top to bottom, stadium jump finish..
Sport / Beginner: upper Karpiel, to Speed Control, to Phodogg, to staduim jump finish.
#4.) September 14th, 2008 - Sunday
All classes: Gypsy (first time ever).
#5.) October 5th, 2008 - Sunday
All classes: Second Annual Livewire Classic.

Nv Cup Series * Peavine Mountain Reno, Nevada * May 31st, 2008
Don Morehouse and Casey Coffman did a fantastic job at the ‘08 Peavine Challenge XC Race last Saturday. The race covered 26 miles of singletrack with over 4,400 ft of climbing! It’s muy tough just to finish.
