The racing was fast and the dirt was flying at the 3rd Northstar downhill race of 2009.

Courses:

• Expert / Pro: Dogbone, top to bottom, to stadium jump finish.
• Sport / Beginner: upper Karpiel, to Speed Control, to Phodogg, to stadium jump finish.

Mt. Ste. Anne 2009, Peaty Celebrates 50th Career Podium

July 25, 2009 – Mt. Ste. Anne, Quebec, Canada

Santa Cruz Syndicate’s Steve Peat celebrates his 50th career UCI Downhill podium by placing 2nd in the UCI World Cup Downhill in Mt. Ste. Anne, Quebec. Greg MInnaar’s race run was marred with a high speed crash, yet he managed to salvage a 22nd place finish, and young Josh Bryceland put together a 18th place run. Not a stellar weekend, but “Old School” pulled it together for the Syndicate and Minnaar is licking his wounds. Sam Hill takes the win and the leader’s jersey going into Bromont next week. Aaron Gwin has his first career UCI podium and Gee, Fabien, Sam, and Steve destroyed him with a champagne blast.

Gypsy: Northstar 2009 Downhill Race # 2

July 26th, 2009 * Northstar Bike Park Truckee, California

The Gypsy Race went off smoothly last Sunday with over 200 racers bombing the track! Huge thanks to Michael Town for putting up $1,000 for the Pro purse and to Atom Lab for donating $100 to the Vet Pro podium! Thanks to all the Northstar employees for putting on a great event!

1st Annual Shastarama Mtb Races

July 17th thru July 19th, 2009 Mount Shasta Ski Park along with Shasta Base Camp will host a mountain bike fest weekend. The XC race with be on July 18th and the downhill race will be on July 19th. The mountain will be open to the public!!

Mountain Bike Fest Weekend Details:

• Race entry fee per event is $35
• Fee if participating in both events $60
• Lift tickets are $12 for competitors and $15 for the general public per day.
• All courses open to the public on Friday, also open to competitors for pre-race inspection.
• Saturday dh course will be open to the public
• Sunday XC course will be open to the public
• Coyotoe Cafe and the bar will be open all 3 days
