The Cane Creek Double Barrel coil shock was one of the highlights of the show for some of us. We wouldn’t have recognized this shock as a jewel if we hadn’t had the chance to ride it on the dirt at Bootleg Canyon.

October 2, 2007Interbike 2: On Dirt Demo
October 1, 2007Bootleg Canyon * Boulder City, Nevada * September 24th & 25th, 2007
Dirt Demo was awesome this year. Monday was way less crowded and we got to ride loads of the bikes that we planned on testing. Tuesday is more crowded and it’s a little harder to get the most popular bikes.

Shuttle trucks transport lucky riders to the top of Bootleg Canyon. There are plenty of XC trails at BC also to test those other types of mtn bikes.

Eurobike challenges Interbike in 2007
October 31, 2006
The Eurobike organizers will launch a competing bicycle industry trade show next year (mid September) in Portland, Oregon. The show will feature a two day outdoor demo at nearby Ski Bowl or at a venue near Hood River. Capitalizing on growing discontent with Interbike’s Las Vegas location the German organizers say that the time is right for a new event.

2007 SRAM Components Rock!
October 7, 2006
The new Rockshox Totem fork, that we pounded at the Interbike Outdoor Demo, was definately the fork that generated the most buzz with dhReno riders. The Totem is an awesome 180mm travel, 40mm stanchions, single crown fork that is available in either air, coil or 2 step with a 1 1/8″ or 1.5″ steer tube. This fork is better than most of the downhill forks from a couple of years ago and it comes in at around 6 lbs!
The Boxxer WC is another fork that continues to impress and is probably the best DH fork currently available.
The Code Brakes are hot and our riders are very interested in them – I’m sure that they’ll be showing up on local dh and fr bikes soon!
Here are some great photos and commentary (from this year’s SRAM preview in Moab) on the new components:

Some of the Black Rock Bikes worker bees made the annual pilgrimage to Interbike to check out the new toys and report back. After much on the dirt product testing and pounding we know that Santa Cruz Bikes still rule!
