Batavus Bike with NuVinci Drivetrain Wins ‘Bike of the Year’ Award
Fallbrook Technologies Inc. (Fallbrook), a pioneering technology development company, announced today that a bicycle equipped with its Model N170S NuVinci Continuously Variable Planetary (CVP) drivetrain has been named the 2007 Bike of the Year at the FietsVak show in Rosmalen, The Netherlands. In addition, the Model N170S NuVinci drivetrain itself won the FietsVak 2007 Technology Innovation of the Year award. The Netherlands is considered one of the world’s most influential bike markets because of its very large percentage of bike ownership – the highest per capita in the world. Pioneers of the racer’s choice of chain guides since the mid 90’s, MRP will introduce a new line of chain guides and bash guards oriented toward Freeride/Urban/Park and XC riders. The new series will feature a patented design incorporating a replaceable bash guard and back plate which mounts directly to the bottom bracket shell. Single, double, and triple-chainring compatible systems will be offered in ISCG and ISCG-05 formats. An XC version for frames without ISCG tabs is also in development. Selected products will be available in early 2007 with others seeing release by midyear.
