Moab ‘08 Amasa Back
We arrived in Moab Sunday afternoon and after we set up camp at the Canyonlands RV Park (right in town) we immediately took off for Amasa Back (or Cliff Hanger as some people call it).

Matt Robison tackles the steady climb up to some awesome views.

The trail’s starting point off of the Kane Creek Road.

Bernie rides the “Cliff Hanger” part.

Steve test rides a Pugsley. We met a guy named Andrew who was riding an wild Surly Pugsley on the trail. He built it up really nice with a Rohloff hub, Code brakes, Stylo cranks and mustashe bars - it probably weighed around 32 lbs. The 26×4.0 tires with 10 lbs of air pressure were pretty good at eating up the bumps!

Amasa Back offers unlimited freeride options.

L2R: Nancy, Randy, Matt, Sean & Steve at the top.

Yeah Greg the Pugsley is cool - it works really well in sand. As you might imagine with those huge tires, the handling is not as lively as we’re used to .
