Hello,

I found your website by accident, but it brought back a lot of good memories of when I lived in Reno . Such a beautiful place!

Thought I’d send you guys this map of a trail we put together from Tahoe Meadows down to the valley. It was about a 45 minute downhill…although not all downhill. Great variety of riding on it, but it’s a big shuttle from top to bottom. You guys have a lot of trails on your site, but I didn’t see this one! Should be warned, I’m not sure exactly how legal parts of it are, but we never had any guff when we rode it, and you only run into people up top in the meadows and at the very end.

Enjoy your sunshine and mountains…I miss them everyday!

Note: It looks like mountain bikes are ok on this trail. See  www.nvtrailmaps.com

ophir creek is soooo hard on a downhill bike! Its about 6-7 miles of up and down and lots of humungus boulders to climb over. But at the end you really feel like you earned that tequeza!

I’ve only hiked it up to rock lake, always wanted to ride it, maybe next time back in Reno and no snow :(
    Thanks for the map though.

This trail has everything. In the begining there are some fast sections, then it goes into huge boulders. In the middle it takes you down deep creek beds.

the trail is the best work out for tight, bite your anckle off types of rock. one of the fav.s. erosion has washed the trail to a stream bed, so there is some rock sections. the trail overall is still ridable. hope to see myself there come late spring. P.S. don,t try it with any snow still on the hill. many snowdrifts will remain for a while..

I did this one 2 years ago finding it on google earth and went for it with a buddy having no idea what to expect. Just make sure a left is taking at the “unmarked fork short cut eiminates climb through private property”. A guy really busted our chops over it. But if you did take the short cut it is an amazing canyon looking down into the creek.
