The snow is melting fast so Downieville should be open in a couple of weeks.
From Downieville Outfitters: ” We will offer a different DH shuttle covering 3000 ft over the course of 6 miles. We have put in many hours to reopen this old logging trail and will have it open in mid-Spring.”

from MTBR.com
“Went this weekend. There is still snow at the top of butcher for about 2 miles right until the rockgarden/creek (where all the XC guys where crashing in that video) After that it was all good. Trails in really good shape. If you are planning on going in the next few weeks bring extra socks and water proof your shoes. There still is about 4′ of snow in some places.
As far as I know we are the 1st ones to hit up downieville this year. Definatly the 1st shuttle of the year. ”
