DH Race- Sunday July 15th, 2007
17 miles, 5,000′ descent, oh yeah. The Downieville Downhill is the longest and most demanding dh race course in the country (new longer and sweeter course with the addition of Sunrise Trail).

Do you know if the XC races sell out as fast?

I might try to find a susp. fork for my SS and ride that.

No, the XC race doesen’t sell out fast, you can actually sign up on the day of the race. Dude, just run your rigid fork with FR casing tires. Be careful with a 2:1 if that’s what you’re normally used to, legs may fail after the climb. I’m gonna pre-ride the course several times before the race this year, I’ll let you know when the first ride is planned.

I already know I can’t handle 2:1 for a long ride. I’ll have to see if my magic gear setup will work with another combo.

    thanks!

I’m partial to Sardine Lake, on the way to Packer Saddle, but very little in the way of services; you may have to “shower” in the lake. I also hear the Plum Somethingorother is a nice option, right on the Yuba out of Sierra City.

    Shower?!?! Camping? I’m confused.

Fun Ride BTW. I’ll catch up on that beer tuesday.
