Another great weekend of riding at Mammoth Mountain. So many trails to ride, so little time!

New Trails:
DC 10 is a long black diamond trail that starts at Brake Through and ends up at Chair 2. DC 10 is a super fun singletrack that has a couple of gnarly shoots and some great drops, jumps and rock gardens.

Randy nails the DC 10 log drop

Other new Mammoth Trails:
Some of the new trails (Twighlight Zone, Richter, Techno Rock, etc.) are on the trails map but haven’t been constructed yet. We talked to one of the Mammoth Mtn Bike Rangers and he reported that some of the new trails are on a Forest Service hold list. We sincerely hope that whatever issues exist at Mammoth get settled quickly and that the new trails are built!

Trail Conditions

Most of the trails are open and are in great shape. Only Upper Skidmarks and Upper Velocity are closed due to snow drifts.

New Mammoth Shuttle Trailer pulled behind the bus.

This new design is much easier to load and holds 30 bikes securely.

Testing new stuff:
- Don is on his second weekend riding the MountainCycle 9.5 and he’s pin’n it. Riding with Jason and Curtis will up his DH game for sure.
- Janice just got a rad Santa Cruz Heckler with a Fox 36, Kenda 2.5 Nevegal DH tires and 8″ disc brakes - perfect for Mammoth. Janice was railing Flow and Velocity and it was her first weekend riding Mammoth and her first ride on the Heckler! Great riding Janice!
- Randy brought his new Airstream International 22′ out for the inaugural camping trip (at the New Shady Rest Campground in Mammoth) and it is fantastic! The coolest camp trailer we’ve ever seen!

Mammoth is such a blast when everyone participates. Camping is super cheap and so are lift tickets. I don’t know if we’ve had this much fun, even at NorthStar.
