Hole in the Ground * Donner Pass, California * July 2004
This is a hard, technical ride (17 miles, 2,100 ft climbing) that starts across from Boreal Ski Resort and ends up in Soda Springs by the fire station. The ride is great fun and a good workout.

There are a couple of lakes to visit on this ride, also some nice granite slickrock areas to play on. This particular day Nancy crashed on the first downhill and cut her forearm on some sharp granite so we rode straight thru. It took about 99 stitches at Tahoe Forest ER to get her sewed up.
